Fall 2008 Newsletter

It will soon be that time of year again, the time all of us look forward too, “SNOW SEASON”.

We would like to welcome all our members and future members back for the new 2008-2009 season. We are hoping for a good winter this year and are glad to see the gas prices have gone down. We hope they stay down so we can all afford to ride.

Our club has purchased a Piston Bully to help keep our trails in good condition and our volunteers have spent many hours working in Tolmantown on the rock cut to make it more of an enjoyable ride for every one this year. Our groomers and equipment put in a lot of man hours to keep our trails cleared and groomed. Please support our club and sport by volunteering and/or attending our fundraisers. We will be hosting our second annual poker run January 10th (with a snow date of January 17th). The participating establishments in the poker run are as follows: Mayfield Servicemen’s Club (starting point), Sawdust Café (starting point), Mayfield Grill, Pour Jim’s, Forrester’s Club, Greystone Inn, and the Mayfield Fireman’s Association (ending point). We recently held a Dinner/Raffle at the Forrester’s Club on Oct. 4th. We raffled off a 09 Polaris 550 touring sled we bought from Powerhouse. The winner of the sled was Dick Gugenberger. We also sold Yankee Candles as a new fundraiser this year, which was very profitable for us, look forward to doing it again next year.

Our Annual Christmas Party was at Lanzi’s on December 5th. We had 94 people attend (more than ever before). Our end of the year picnic will be in March. We will be sending out notifications when the exact date is set. Please visit our web site regularly to keep up to date of all that is happening with the club, at www.soadsnowclub.com.

Again I would like to ask everyone that has an email address that hasn’t given it to us in the past to please consider doing so. I will be able to keep you posted of up coming events and the club news via email better that snail mail. And with the cost of postage going up, it is much less expensive for the club.
